Welcome to the Hindu Mandir Kingston Project
(Last updated on 18 June 2025)
The Board of Directors of the Hindu Mandir of Kingston would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the generous members of the Kingston community who have contributed selflessly toward the “Hindu Mandir of Kingston” Project . The unwavering support and generous donations from our community members have been instrumental in moving this project forward. It is truly inspiring to witness the dedication and unity within our community for this sacred cause.
Following has been accomplished so far on the project
- Mandir building has been purchased.
- Hired Engineering firm to work with Kingston city officials to complete the Architectural and Engineering work for the Mandir
- Meetings conducted with city officials to get building permit to start building redevelopment
- Continue to work with other contractors to finalize building renovation cost estimates timeline
- Applied to CRA for amalgamation of the two founding organizations (Kingston Sanatan Cultural Center and Geetanjali Cultural Temple of Kingston.
While significant progress has been made , the project has encountered some unexpected delays, primarily due to ongoing city permit approvals. As with many construction efforts of this scale, there are regulatory and compliance processes that are beyond our direct control. We are working diligently with city officials, engineers, and consultants to address these matters and move forward as quickly as possible.
Some of the key hurdles currently being addressed include:
- Delays in permit issuance due to revised zoning requirements
- Additional inspections and environmental impact reviews
- Coordination with utility providers for infrastructure alignment
The project team is actively engaged and doing everything possible to navigate through the challenges while maintaining full compliance with city regulations. We will continue to provide frequent updates on this website to keep everyone informed and ensure transparency.
Once again, we sincerely thank the community for its patience, and support.
